Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1 *Rare but regular nester at this location. The sapsuckers first nested here in 2023. I (Kathy) heard and saw the pair this year on April 15 closer to the restrooms. Likely nesting in the vernal pool vicinity. Seen today near the British soldier grave near the Bloody Angle. Male called briefly and demonstrating its arrhythmic tapping. This is one of only a handful of nesting pairs in eastern MA.
