Checklist Comments:    SSBC/BBC trip, Glenn d’Entremont leader; 3 participants-light rain with heavier rain until 9:30; birded this differently by not walking any trails until rain stopped.  Made it to the top still stopping 1/2 miles to Jone’s Nose; then just traveled with windows open for sound of which there was little.  Rain stopped around 9:30 and birded the mountain going down.  Saddleball we actually done about the same time of day we normally do it; the rest were much later.  Did not get Mourning this day; did have about 20 minutes on Sunday (6/15) morning before having to leave to get to meeting spot; was able to hear Mourning Warbler only about mile/mile 1/4 up from Lanesborough visitors center.  One surprise-adult male Northern Parula in the parking lot at summit; singing and seen, male Blackburnian came in and pushed it out-moved around a bit-really LATE migrant?

Northern Parula  1    surprise of the day; adult male singing in the summit parking lot.  small warbler with white belly & lower breast, mid-breast yellow with chestnut/rusty necklace, yellow throat & chin, pale bill, black lores, white eye arcs, blueish upper parts and wings with two white wing bars, green upside down triangle on back, song buzzy upward slurred note(s) dropping “over the top” at end; pushed out by male Blackburnian and the bird began to move around
