Checklist Comments:    BBC- Mount Auburn Cemetery – Leader: Kathy Dia- Notes from Kathy: Extremely cold 1° F when I left my house this morning, but thankfully sunny. I wondered if anyone would show up, so imagine my surprise when twenty folks showed up! Our gusto was rewarded with some great birds! We walked a 90 minute loop around “Lakes” Halcyon and  Auburn , then eight of us drove (our own cars) to Willow Pond for a 30 minute extension around the pond.

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker  3    Conservatively three but may be four or more. A pair calling to each other near the front gate (male seen); one male above Lake Auburn pecking and calling softly (may be one of the two from Halcyon); one individual pecking and calling at Willow Lake.

Northern Flicker (Yellow-shafted)  4    All perched in one tree at one point for a lovely picture!

Hermit Thrush  1    Willow Pond seen first in a tree with robins, then feeding on the ground where you might expect it on the edge of the pond with long grasses.
