Checklist Comments:    Brookline Bird Club field trip

Leader Ray Bedard plus 6 participants. Emily, Mimi, Jackie, Bob, Rob and Ben.

Clear sunny skies to start. Temps around 45. Clouds rolled in as the temperature rose to 50 and sprinkled some rain on us.

Sandhill Crane was the main target and they made us work for the sighting. We could hear them multiple times around the south impoundment but could not find them. They called as we were heading back towards the main trail and we decided to do a little bushwhacking to try and see the cranes. The Sandhill’s were spotted by Rob who got us all on the birds.

The wind kept a lot of birds hunkered down and probably kept us from hearing any American Bitterns.

Great trip and I look forward to seeing everyone soon.
