Grasshopper Sparrow  1    Thin, high-pitched trill. Heard dozens of times. From some vantage points, the singer could be seen singing, perched, or flying low in short flights over the field. The bird was strongly backlit, so visual fieldmarks were not obvious. However pudgy size/shape and lack of dark streaking on breast was apparent.
