Join us on a free joint BBC-Boston Nature Center bird walk to observe resident birds and winter migrants in a unique urban setting that is a favorite habitat for many bird species. A BNC naturalist will help us find and identify birds through field marks, sounds, and behaviors. We will search for wintering alcids, loons & sea ducks, shorebirds, and Snowy Owls. The walk is suitable for all levels from advanced to beginner.  Dress warmly and be prepared for snow/ice, cold, and wind. Expect to walk approximately 2 miles on paved/level paths. Port-a-potties may be available.

Auto Directions: Drive Day Blvd. to the end. Park as close to Sullivan’s Castle Island restaurant as you can.

Public Transit: MBTA’s #7 and #9 buses serve Castle Island, though some walking to the meeting point will be required.
