Virginia Rail  2    Squeaking calls, possibly immature bird or birds near the observation platform. Participant Sam briefly saw a rail running across the main dike between the platform and river.

Great Blue Heron (Blue form)  4
Black Vulture  1    Spotted by Jared Keyes and seen by most. Deep black bird, flat wing shape (no dihedral) with white wing tips, short tail. Flying very high and fast. Going northeast (seemingly the wrong direction if migrating).
