The BBC is proud to announce a donation of $400 to Kestrel Educational Adventures to pay for field guides and orienteering compasses for elementary school students in a program sponsored by the town of Salem that will include a course on biomimicry and outdoor adventure outings. Kestrel’s mission is to “help young people unleash their inner scientists and cultivate an understanding of the natural world,” and they have a long tradition of offering nature programs to students throughout the North Shore. Kestrel director Jessica Kagle has graciously thanked the BBC for our donation.
