Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do. Join DCR park staff for a relaxed, one-mile bird walk through flat, easy terrain at this Massachusetts State Reservation and birding hot spot. At Belle Isle and at additional nearby locations— We’ll search for raptors, native sparrows, finches, herons, and egrets. Part 1: 7:30 – 10:15 am / Part 2: 10:30 am – 1:00 pm. We will hike at a slow pace through mild to moderate trails in search of sparrows and other migrants. For the first part we will hike the Eastern trails between Lake Chauncy and Little Chauncy(about 3 miles). Then we will again

Join us to look for birds in a unique urban habitat that often draws numerous uncommon and rare birds.Target species include blackbirds, brant, dunlin, eagles, egrets, falcons, hawks, herons, kinglets, loons, mergansers, owls, oystercatchers, plovers, ravens and crows, sandpipers, sapsuckers, scaup, scoters, sparrows & juncos, terns, and yellowlegs. Join DCR park staff for a leisurely walk across sandy stretches and areas of loose rocks at this Massachusetts State Reservation, a well-known hot spot for birdwatching. This is often a great place for fall sparrows including Savannah, Field, and White-crowned, as well as Pipit and occasional Dickcissel. Loaner binoculars available; please email trip leader to reserve a pair!
