Comments: BBC – Woodcocks at Meriam’s Corner – Leader: Kathy Dia – Co-sponsored by Minute Man NHP- Unfortunately we had light rain which increased a bit during the “walk”. Upper 40’s F. I listed this walk as “Limited Mobility” and in one of life’s ironic twists I was the definition of this having broken my ankle in January and had ensuing surgery. The NHP kindly supplied me with an all-terrain wheelchair and Will Martens, Joan Stoner , my husband Jay and surprise guest Margie Coffin Brown (park Dir of Cultural and Natural Resources) all were a great help to me and to participants during the walk. I began by talking about woodcocks and their life cycle and habits. We heard the first “peents” at about 7:07. This was a “family” walk and it was nice to have two youngsters in attendance.
4 species
Canada Goose 12
Mallard 5
Red-tailed Hawk 1
American Woodcock 5
