Charles River Esplanade

We will walk along the Charles River Esplanade from the Longfellow Bridge upriver looking for birds on both land and water. We hope to see a range of fall migrants as well as year round Co-sponsored with the Charles River Esplanade Association.  Pre-register for this walk on the Esplanade Association's website. 

Fresh Pond, Cambridge

This is roughly a two mile-walk on a level, paved path around the pond.

Ipswich and Vicinity

Ipswich - Former Town Hall 69 S Main St, Ipswich, MA, United States

We will search for waterfowl, raptors, and wintering boreal songbirds. Limited walking. Carpooling from the meeting location will be essential. Co-sponsored by the Essex County Ornithological Club.

Watertown – Gore Place

Watertown - Gore Place 52 Gore Street, Waltham, MA, United States

Join us for a stroll around the grounds of the Gore Place, an historic house and working farm located on the border of Watertown and Waltham.  We will also visit nearby conservation land.  Preregistration required. Cape Ann

Gloucester - Fisherman's Monument Gloucester Fisherman's Memorial, 60 Western Ave, Gloucester, MA, United States

We will search for alcids and other wintering seabirds. Be prepared for cold and windy weather. In case of inclement weather check with leader night before trip.

BBC field trips are open to all participants. Unless otherwise stated, all trips are free to attend and do not need preregistration. You do not need to be a club member to attend, though we hope you will join. We follow all policies of field trip location property owners and co-sponsoring organizations. These may include ongoing public health measures. Some participants may choose to wear a face mask for health purposes. We support their right to do so.
