Mass Audubon Rough Meadows, Rowley (POSTPONED 1 week to July 20th due to rain)

We walk through the sanctuary looking for shorebirds and other marsh specialties. Targets will be waders, breeding songbirds, Saltmarsh Sparrows, and maybe even a lucky Seaside Sparrow. The walking is moderate and trails are accessible. It may be warm and there will be bugs!

Great Neck offers a variety of habitats in a concentrated area. This is a recipe for migrants, and the island's position in the region --sandwiched between Crane Beach and Plum Island-- is a great catchpoint for birds stopping over. BBC field trips are open to all participants. Unless otherwise stated, all trips are free to attend and do not need preregistration. You do not need to be a club member to attend, though we hope you will join.
