This trip is for the marsh sparrows and White-eyed Vireo. This is the best spot in Massachusetts to observe both nesting marsh sparrows (Saltmarsh and Seaside) up close and personal.

Cosponsored by the ECOC. This two-mile walk in the sand is aimed at nesting Piping Plovers, Least Terns, and Bank Swallows, as well as evening singers such as Whip-poor-wills. Be prepared for mosquitoes at sunset.
Myles Standish State Forest, Carver – Evening
A serene way to end the day with Prairie Warblers and Hermit Thrushes reluctantly giving way to Eastern Whip-poor-wills and, perhaps, Northern Saw-whet Owls. Target endangered breeding species: Whip-poor-will.

Assabet River NWR contains a diverse mixture of pine and hardwood forest, old fields, and wetlands. We will walk 2-3 miles on even, well-maintained trails in search of warblers, raptors, flycatchers and a variety of other migrants and residents. Can be buggy – insect repellent recommended. We will plan on making a short drive to
Mount Holyoke to the Quabbin
Join us for a series of short hikes as we search for Cerulean Warbler, Acadian Flycatcher, and Alder Flycatcher. Time will also be taken to enjoy the flora and fauna along the way.
Birding Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary
We will walk about 2.5 miles on several of the trails through forests and fields with scenic views of Buzzards Bay and salt marshes. This walk will be cosponsored with Nasketucket Bird Club.
Belle Isle Marsh and Vicinity
Led by DCR staff. We will search on foot up to one mile on flat, easy terrain, for migrating or resident songbirds, raptors, shorebirds, and marsh birds at this birding hotspot and state park. This is a traveling program by car or bike. Prepare for ticks and mosquitoes. Ages: Adults and kids 8 years+ with
