Join us to observe resident birds and fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species, including uncommon and rare birds. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk. The trails are (generally) flat and easy to walk. A water bottle, water proof clothing including a hat, sunblock & insect repellent are recommended.

This free walk is conducted jointly with Mass. Audubon Boston Nature Center and preregistration is required as walk sizes are limited. Please register by emailing neil.calabro1@mac.com. Be sure to mention it when registering if you will need loaner binoculars. There are only a few pairs available.

Meeting spot: RPM Fitness lot, 120 Banks St. Winthrop. There is a chain link fence with (worn out, not easy to see) signs authorizing public parking alongside the fence. Park in front of that fence. You’ll see a sign in the far back of the lot that says Belle Isle Marsh Marine Ecology Park. Meet in front of the sign. Please don’t park in a spot that says for gym only.

Public transit: Nearest MBTA stop is Blue Line Orient Heights. It’s a 32 minute walk.
