We will walk on fairly level gravel roads for 3 miles looking for breeding birds including Field Sparrow, Indigo Bunting, and Prairie Warbler. Co-sponsored with the Menotomy Bird Club. No restroom facilities.

Shore Birding around Boston

East Boston - Belle Isle Parking Lot 1399 Bennington Street, Boston, MA, United States

Stops may include Belle Isle Marsh, The Key, Revere Beach, and Winthrop. We will not be carpooling so participants must have their own cars.

Nahanton Park, Newton and other nearby locations

Newton - Nahanton Park 507 Winchester St, Newton, MA, United States

We will search for sparrows and other fall migrants at Nahanton Park and a possible other location to be determined nearer the date of the trip.

Parker River NWR and Vicinity

Parker River NWR - Lot #1 Refuge Rd., Newbury, MA, MA, United States

We will explore various hot-spots on the refuge for fall migrants. The walk will then continue to other nearby locations based on current reports. Anything is possible during fall migration! Note that an entrance fee or pass is required to enter Parker River NWR.

Cape Ann

We will search for alcids and other wintering seabirds. Be prepared for cold and windy weather. If bad weather is predicted, contact the leader by 6:00 p.m. the previous evening.

We will explore this small gem of a sanctuary for migrants and residents alike.

BBC field trips are open to all participants. Unless otherwise stated, all trips are free to attend and do not need preregistration. You do not need to be a club member to attend, though we hope you will join.
