Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do. Special Note for Mount Auburn Cemetery Visits Trip leaders at MAC must be able to park. Trip participants are kindly asked to leave the first parking space in front of the medical office building free for the leader. Just west of the cemetery is free on-street parking on side streets (e.g. Francis Street) in Watertown, a short walk or ride on the bus 71 or 73 to the cemetery gate. The BBC does not endorse use of the nearby Star Market parking lot; towing is possible. Other options worth checking include Fresh Pond Lane off Brattle Street. Check daily listings for starting times. Very large groups may be split. Thank you.

    Mount Auburn Cemetery is lovely in all seasons.  In late March, we may see the very earliest migrants from the south (Red-winged Blackbird, others) as well as the remaining seasonal visitors from the north (e.g. White-throated Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco).  And our usual year-round resident species will have just started to sing!

    A peaceful winter walk in Mount Auburn is always a pleasure and you never know what you might see. Sapsuckers and Red-breasted Nuthatches are regulars.
