We will walk about 1.5 miles on gravel paths in search of late fall sparrows. This is usually a good spot for Lincoln’s and Clay-colored Sparrows. We never know what else might show up. I will arrive early to listen for Great Horned Owls.
Belle Isle Marsh Marine Ecology Park, Winthrop
Join us to observe resident birds and early fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species, including uncommon and rare birds. Led by DCR staff. We will search on foot up to one mile, on flat, easy terrain for snowy owls and other raptors, native sparrows, finches, waterfowl, and other birds. This is a traveling program by car or bike. Prepare for ticks. Ages: Adults and kids 8 years+ with adult chaperone. Binoculars recommended. ADA/Reasonable Accommodations

We have chartered a private trip with 7 Seas Whale Watching Tours to search for pelagic birds in the waters around Stellwagen Bank. With the help of onboard spotters we hope to

We will explore various hot-spots on the refuge for fall migrants. The walk will then continue to other nearby locations based on current reports. Anything is possible during fall migration! Note that an entrance fee or pass is required to enter Parker River NWR.
