Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do.   • Erwin S. Wilder WMA

    Norton - Erwin S. Wilder WMA Todd Island Rd, Norton, MA, United States

    We will walk a 2 mile loop through fallow fields and some wooded areas. Trails are gravel, fairly level and usually dry. This is a great spring migration spot for warblers.

  • Plymouth Airport for grassland sparrows

    Plymouth Airport 246 S Meadow Rd, Plymouth, MA, United States

    With permission from the airport manager, we will be allowed to go inside the second fence line onto the airport, closed to the general public, in search of the grassland birds which nest at the airport. Note: This trip can be cancelled at any time, without notice, for homeland security reasons! Target endangered breeding species:

  • Millis and Medfield Breeding Birds

    Millis - Paddock Lane 218 Causeway St, Millis, MA, United States

    Trying for 50 species again this year, we’ll be walking about a mile and a half, mostly staying on pavement. Boots are not required. Ticks should not be a problem. We’ll be looking and listening for swamp breeders, including Green Heron, Brown Creeper, Northern Waterthrush, and Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. We may then stop at the Medfield

  • North Wachusett Reservoir

    Sterling - North Wachusett Reservoir - Gate 36 60 West Boylston Street, Sterling, MA, United States

    We will explore a new trip location for the state-list Grasshopper Sparrow. We will cover a few miles on foot while also enjoying other species that we may encounter along the way. If there is interest, we will also extend the search to a second site in Sterling. Target endangered breeding species: Grasshopper Sparrow.

  • Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, Concord

    Concord - Great Meadows Concord Unit, Entrance Rd, Concord, MA, United States

    Rails and Least Bittern are our main targets. Note that entrance fee or pass is required. Duck stamps and entrance passes are accepted.

  • Mount Auburn Cemetery

    Mount Auburn Cemetery 536 Mt Auburn St, Cambridge, MA, United States

  • Millennium Park

    Boston - Millennium Park Canoe Launch 300 Gardner Street, Boston, MA, United States

    Join us to observe resident birds and spring migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species, including uncommon and rare birds. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk The trails are flat and easy to walk. Be sure to wear a hat and waterproof footwear and pack water.

  • Franklin Park – Scarboro Pond – Black Birders Week Walk

    Join us for a walk in celebration of Black Birders Week. We will look for warblers, orioles, and other migratory birds in the Scarboro Pond section of Franklin Park. Beginners welcome and encouraged. Expect to walk up to two miles on paved paths. Co-sponsored with the Franklin Park Coalition.

  • Martin Burns WMA, West Newbury

    Newbury - Martin Burns WMA Orchard Street Entrance Orchard St, Newbury, MA, United States

    We will walk the three-mile loop. No restroom facilities.
