Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do. Led by DCR staff. We will search on foot up to one mile, on flat, easy terrain for raptors, native sparrows, finches, herons and egrets. This is a traveling program by car or bike. An easy walk on flat trails. We will look for fall migrants and resident birds.

We will watch the fall migration rise and fall at a suburban park location,over the span of seven weeks: Warblers give way to sparrows. Easy walk near garden plots, along the Charles, and through woods. Waterproof shoes recommended. Canceled if steady rain. Portapotty available.

Explore this urban oasis for sparrows and other possible fall migrants like Dickcissel and Blue Grosbeak. We will take an easy walk through varied habitats. Co-sponsored with the Boston Nature Center.
We will walk about 1.5 miles on gravel paths in search of late fall sparrows. This is usually a good spot for Lincoln’s and Clay-colored Sparrows. We never know what else might show up. I will arrive early to listen for Great Horned Owls.
