Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do. This walk will focus on fall migrant land birds such as warblers and sparrows and any other birds that we may discover. The leveled dirt trail is about two miles long and is usually dry, but there may be a few large puddles to negotiate necessitating waterproof boots. We may also explore the section on
Join us to observe resident birds and early fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species, including uncommon and rare birds. A BNC naturalist will help us find and identify birds through field marks, sounds, and behaviors. Birders of all levels will enjoy these guided walks; beginning birders

Join us for an urban birding trip. A small marsh, grasses, and open fields often attract unexpected birds in this setting. All are welcome, including beginners and those who historically have not been included in birding! Loaner binoculars available for use during this trip.
We will drive and carpool down the Parker River Refuge in search of shorebirds and fall migrants.
We will walk easy trails looking for birds. This is a good time for raptors. Beginners welcome. Note that entrance fee or pass is required.
We will watch the fall migration rise and fall at a suburban park location,over the span of seven weeks: Warblers give way to sparrows. Easy walk near garden plots, along the Charles, and through woods. Waterproof shoes recommended. Canceled if steady rain. Portapotty available.
We will walk along the marsh trail bordered by the Herring River to observe shorebirds, herons, egrets, gulls, and terns gathering in numbers to forage on the outgoing tide. We’ll also encounter other species, including a variety of passerines and raptors. You may want to wear beach sandals or boots. Low tide is about 6:42
Led by DCR staff. We will search on foot up to one mile, on flat, easy terrain for shorebirds during their peak in migration and passerines that are beginning their southerly migration. This is a traveling program by car or bike. Prepare for mosquitoes and ticks. Ages: Adults and kids 8+ with adult chaperone. ADA/Reasonable
