Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do. We will drive and carpool down the Parker River Refuge in search of shorebirds and fall migrants.

We will walk along the Charles River Esplanade from the Longfellow Bridge upriver looking for birds on both land and water. We hope to see a range of fall migrants as well as year round residents. A two mile walk on (mostly) paved paths around the pond. In addition to the “usual suspects”, we are likely to see some of the fall warblers, plus possibly a few of the Weird Ducks that have started to arrive.
Join DCR park staff for a relaxed, one-mile bird walk through flat, easy terrain at this Massachusetts State Reservation and birding hot spot. At Belle Isle and at additional nearby locations— We’ll search for shorebirds during their peak in migration and passerines that are beginning their southerly migration. Participants are responsible for their own transportation
Celebrate the beginning of the Fall season by birding favorite patches, locally and beyond.
We will spend the morning walking 3-4 miles through fields, forests and wetlands looking for post-nesting birds and migrants. Contact leader the night before in case of rain prediction. No restrooms are available. Bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Be prepared for poison ivy.
