Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do.   • Pine Hill Road Grassland

    Lancaster - Pine Hill Road Grasslands Pine Hill Road, Lancaster, MA, United States

    In June, this wonderfully preserved grassland is alive with the songs of breeding Grasshopper and Vesper Sparrow, which are state listed as endangered species. Prairie Warbler, Indigo Bunting, and American Kestrels nest regularly here as well. A mile walk on level grade; can be dry so bring water.

  • Bring Back Boblinks: Bobolinks at Heard Farm, Wayland (Rescheduled from 5/14)

    Part of our Bring Back Bobolinks conservation series. (Rescheduled from 5/14 due to weather.) This gem works its way into the rotations of many birders once discovered. It is managed for dog walking (no dogs on this walk please) and bobolinks, which in agood year can number 100 or more. We will be using dirt

  • Bring Back Boblinks: Bobolinks at Daniel Webster, Marshfield

    Part of our Bring Back Boblinks conservation series. Search for Boblinks as part of our 2026 conservation series. Note noon meeting time. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and insect repelent. Trails are mostly flat and can be muddy depending on recent weather.

  • Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, Concord

    Concord - Great Meadows Concord Unit, Entrance Rd, Concord, MA, United States

    Rails and Least Bittern are our main targets. Note that entrance fee or pass is required. Duck stamps and entrance passes are accepted.

  • Allens Pond Mass Audubon Sanctuary, Dartmouth

    Dartmouth - Allens Pond - Field Station Lot Horseneck Road, Westport, MA, United States

    This trip is for the marsh sparrows and White-eyed Vireo. This is the best spot in Massachusetts to observe both nesting marsh sparrows (Saltmarsh and Seaside) up close and personal.

    Part of our Bring Back Boblinks conservation series. Bird walk from 8 - 10 am. Followed by optional sketching and nature journaling.   • Crane Wildlife Management Area, East Falmouth

    Falmouth - Crane WMA 754 Nathan Ellis Highway, Falmouth, MA, United States

    With CCBC leading. This unique grassland habitat is host to a rich variety of species, including Eastern Meadowlark, Grasshopper Sparrow, Bobolink, American Kestrel and possibly Blue Grosbeak. When we’re done at Crane, we can cross the road and scan Coonamessett Field for raptor activity. Those wishing to can continue on to Mass Audubon’s Ashumet Holly
