Before registering for the pelagic trip please read the following, and when you sign up for the trip, your registration will signify your knowledge and agreement of the following conditions:

  1. Cancellation of your reservation at any time will incur a non-refundable $30.00 charge to cover credit card transaction fees that we have incurred on your behalf.
  2. Cancel your registration before the trip by notifying pelagics@brooklinebirdclub.org
  3. Starting 30 days prior to the trip, refund of the fee remaining after the cancellation charge will only be honored if we are able to fill your spot from the waitlist.
  4. Due to weather conditions, the captain of the Helen H sometimes cancels the trip if there are safety concerns. We will keep you informed as soon as we know of a change of trip status, and realize that sometimes when we have to cancel only a day before the trip it unfortunately creates transportation difficulties for our participants.
  5. Boarding the boat is by the order of receipt of registration. The first 30+ participants can plan on having a bunk for sleeping. Some prefer to sleep on the deck when the weather is clear. Others may find a place to sleep on the many seats / benches that are located throughout.
  6. If you are traveling from out of state, please consider purchasing trip insurance for flights and hotel arrangements, since the pelagic trips are occasionally cancelled due to sea conditions.
