Getting to Know - and Love - Gulls

Are you a “larophile?” Do you love gulls, even if you’re not sure exactly which gull you’re observing? Often approached with apprehension, gulls have gained a love-hate relationship with many birders. Among these larids are some of the most coveted bird species in the world, but recent genetic data and frequent hybridization in this family compel us to reassess the very concept of a species. Join us, as Amar touches on these topics, highlighting key identification field marks for separating our winter gull species, as well as the aging process and molt.
