Did you know that Taiwan ranks 7th in eBird checklist submissions among all countries on the planet? Why did Bill Thompson III make Taiwan his first ever Asian bird watching experience? Jared will attempt to answer these and other questions as he shares his experience visiting this amazing, mountainous island nation, dozens of times over the past 40 years as a college student, a birdwatcher, and, since 2017, as a bird photographer.
About the presenter: A Mass native and lifelong birder, Jared Keyes banded birds in college and continues to keep close to birds in many ways, including as a field trip leader for the BBC. With over 200k mostly Central and South American followers, Jared operates an educational bird gallery on Facebook and Instagram, publishing bi-weekly content concurrently in Portuguese, Spanish and English with a goal of linking the peoples of the Americas through their shared birds, and their shared love of birds. Jared is a board member of the Vermont Center for Ecostudies and sits on the advisory board of Mass Audubon.
