Join Mass. Audubon and the Brookline Bird Club to observe resident birds and fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species, including uncommon and rare birds. Target species include blackbirds, brant, dunlin, eagles, egrets, falcons, hawks, herons, kinglets, loons, mergansers, owls, oystercatchers, plovers, ravens and crows, sandpipers, sapsuckers, scaup, scoters, sparrows & juncos, terns, and yellowlegs. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk The trails are flat and easy to walk. We may offer optional 30-60 minute trip extensions to nearby locations such as Lewis Lake and/or Short Beach.
The walk is free but preregistration is required. Please preregister by emailing Correne George of Mass. Audubon at cgeorge@massaudubon.org and ccing neil.calabro1@mac.com. Registration is limited to 15 people. Be sure to wear a hat and waterproof footwear and pack water. A jacket and gloves are recommended.
