We will hike the fields focusing on grassland breeders, particularly Eastern Meadowlark and Grasshopper Sparrow.
Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do. We will hike the fields focusing on grassland breeders, particularly Eastern Meadowlark and Grasshopper Sparrow.
Beginners and those with limited mobility welcome. There is an entrance fee for Parker River NWR.

During the past few years the refuge has opened the dike to hiking during National Wildlife Refuge Week. We will plan to do that hike if the dike is again open this year. Otherwise we hike the boardwalk and normal dike area.
Part 1: 7:30 – 10:15 am / Part 2: 10:30 am – 1:00 pm. We will hike at a slow pace through mild to moderate trails in search of sparrows and other migrants. For the first part we will hike the Eastern trails between Lake Chauncy and Little Chauncy(about 3 miles). Then we will again

Please note, we follow all policies of field trip location property owners and co-sponsoring organizations. Some participants may choose to wear a face mask for health purposes. We support their right to do so.
