Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do. Join us to observe resident birds and spring migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species, including uncommon and rare flycatchers, swallows & warblers. Birders of all levels welcome. The trails are generally flat and easy to walk, with some rough patches. A water bottle, sunblock, insect repellent, waterproof
A two-hour walk, about 1.5 miles, over easy to moderate gravel roads and trails in search of seasonal specialties. Boots advisable. Restrooms are available. We will hike the Beach Loop and Quansett Trail. Mostly flat trails, but a mix of sandy, rocky, and muddy areas. We will look for migrants and breeders in a variety of habitats. If there is further interest we will continue to other nearby areas for any specialty species of interest.
We will hike the north side of Big Chauncy Pond in search of migrant warblers.
Discover a Weston hot-spot featuring a Great Blue Heron rookery accessible by public transportation. The walk offers excellent chances for spring migrants, raptors, nesting Eastern Bluebirds and various waterfowl. Beginners welcome. Leader will pre-walk the route to scout for arriving species each session.

We will walk around McLaughlin Woods, looking mainly for warblers and other migrants.
Quabbin Region spot for several species of warblers, thrushes, and other central Mass woods surprises. We'll drive to multiple stops along the paved road followed by a hike of more than 2 miles on a hilly trail to the top of Soapstone Hill for different species.
