DESCRIPTION:With permission from the airport manager\, we will be allowed to go inside the second fence line onto the airport\, closed to the general public\, in search of the grassland birds which nest at the airport. Note: This trip can be cancelled at any time\, without notice\, for homeland security reasons! Target endangered breeding species: Upland Sandpiper\, Vesper Sparrow\, Grasshopper Sparrow\, American Kestrel\, Eastern Meadowlark.

DESCRIPTION:Limited participation. 5:00 – 8:00 a.m. We will be allowed to survey the entire airport grounds before the airport opens to flights to confirm as many breeding species we can. This special habitat has Upland Sandpiper\, American Kestrels\, Eastern Meadowlarks\, and Grasshopper Sparrows\, all species of special concern. Also includes pine barrens specialists like Prairie Warbler\, Field Sparrow\, Eastern Towhee\, and Brown Thrasher. Pre-registration required. Being coordinated by another group. BBC coordinator is Glenn.\nIf inclement weather\, postponed to June 20\, 2026; same time.
