DESCRIPTION:Join us to observe resident birds and spring migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species\, including uncommon and rare flycatchers\, swallows & warblers. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk. The trails are (generally) flat and easy to walk\, though there are some rough patches. A water bottle\, sunblock\, insect repellent\, waterproof clothing\, and a hat are recommended\nThe walk is free but preregistration is required as the walk sizes are limited. DESCRIPTION:Join fellow birders in their 20s-30s as we visit the Fenway Victory Gardens! Located in the Fenway neighborhood\, the historic victory gardens offer an up-close and personal opportunity to search for resident birds and migratory warblers among the community gardening plots. Despite the urban setting\, you’d be surprised at what you can find here! \nExpect to walk approximately 2 miles on level paved/dirt paths. We may encounter some mud near the community garden plots. Bring binoculars if you have them; loaners are available on request (please email the trip leader). \nThis trip is specifically dedicated to those aged 20-39 years. Please do not bring children. \nMeet at the flagpole inside the garden (near the intersection of Boylston St and Park Dr). If you have any concerns\, feel free to contact the trip leader. Meeting location coordinates: 42.34533\, -71.09386. \nMetered parking is very limited to Boylston Street or Fenway. Public transit is the preferred method of transportation. There are numerous options to get close to the park by using the T via the green line branches or buses.

SUMMARY:Bring Back Boblinks: Bobolink Walk and Nature Journaling at Appleton Farms
DESCRIPTION:Part of our Bring Back Boblinks conservation series. \nBird walk from 8 – 10 am. Followed by optional sketching and nature journaling. \nLearn about our special species of concern\, the Bobolink\, during a guided walk through their breeding habitat observing field marks\, mating calls and nest building. \nThen study and appreciate these beautiful birds during a fun nature journaling/sketching session. Beginners welcome! \nBring your journal\, sketch pad\, pencils\, and stool for the journaling session. Some materials will be available if needed. \nThe location is Appleton Farm (TTOR) in Ipswich. The meeting place is the parking all the way in at the cluster of buildings in the back. Drive in the main entrance (219 County Rd\, Ipswich). Once you enter\, stay right and go all the way and all the way back to parking on the right side at the end of the road. This is paid parking ($6) if you aren’t a TTOR member. When we’re done at Crane\, we can cross the road and scan Coonamessett Field for raptor activity.
