DESCRIPTION:Join us to observe resident birds and fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that attracts many uncommon and rare species. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk. The trails are (generally) flat and easy to walk\, though there are some rough patches. A water bottle\, sunblock\, insect repellent\, and waterproof clothing including a hat are recommended. \nThe walk is free but preregistration is required. Please preregister by emailing neil.calabro1@mac.com. Be sure to mention it when registering if you will need loaner binoculars. There are only a few pairs available. \n500 Walk Hill St\, Mattapan\, MA. Follow the long winding road to BNC headquarters. Meet by the front door of the headquarters. DESCRIPTION:Join fellow birders in their 20s-30s as we visit Franklin Park! Located in Roxbury\, Boston’s largest open space is home to a plethora of natural features\, including miles of trails\, playing fields\, a pond\, and plenty of birds! Here we will look for all sorts of songbirds\, including late fall migrants and early winterers. Whether you’re a newcomer looking to start a new hobby or are a seasoned bird expert\, birders of all experience levels in their 20s and 30s are encouraged to join! Hope to see you there!\nExpect to walk approximately 2 miles on mostly level paved paths. Binoculars are highly recommended. If you need loaner binoculars\, they are available upon request (please email the trip leader ahead of time). SUMMARY:Castle Island & Pleasure Bay
DESCRIPTION:Join us to observe resident birds and winter migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species\, including uncommon and rare birds. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk. The trails are (generally) flat. A water bottle\, water proof clothing including a hat\, gloves\, and trail shoes are recommended. Binoculars may be available for loan on a first-come\, first-served basis. There are usually porta-potties available at this location. \nThis walk is free but preregistration is required as walk sizes are limited. Please register by emailing neil.calabro1@mac.com \nMeeting spot: Drive Day Blvd to the end. Park as close to Sullivan’s Castle Island restaurant as you can. The group will be just in front of the restaurant. \nPublic transportation: MBTA busses 9 and 11 stop near the location and run even on Sundays
