SUMMARY:Summer Wildflowers of Great Meadows NWR Concord
DESCRIPTION:Ted Elliman will guide us for this walk along the trails at the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord will focus on the wildflowers that are blooming in the site’s marshes\, floodplains\, and meadows.  These wetland habitats support a tremendous diversity of plants\, many of which are in spectacular bloom in summer. \nNote that entrance fee or pass is required. \nFor many years Ted Elliman worked as a botanist for Native Plant Trust.  Now retired\, he continues to teach botany and ecology classes for Native Plant Trust and other conservation organizations and botanical gardens in New England.

SUMMARY:Millennium Park RESCHEDULED
DESCRIPTION:Rescheduled from Saturday August 10th to Sunday August 11th at 7:30 AM. \nIf you registered to join the walk on Sun.\, please reconfirm your attendance by emailing Correne George (cgeorge@massaudubon.org). \nIf you want to join the walk but hadn’t previously registered or were waitlisted\, email Correne as well. \nJoin us to observe resident birds and spring migrants in a unique urban habitat that hosts many bird species and is an excellent location for finding rarities. A BNC naturalist will help us find and identify birds through field marks\, sounds\, and behaviors. The walk is suitable for all levels of birders (novice to advanced). The trails are mostly flat and easy to walk and we may walk about 1.5 miles. Millennium usually has water & portapotties near the athletic fields. Participants should wear waterproof footwear and bring sunblock\, insect repellent\, water\, and hats. \nThe walk is free but all participants must pre-register by emailing cgeorge@massaudubon.org and copying neil.calabro1@icloud.com.  Please note that participants must be at least 13 years of age and outings are limited to 30 people. \n
