SUMMARY:Millennium Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Mass. Audubon and the Brookline Bird Club to observe resident birds and fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species\, including uncommon and rare birds. Target birds include blackbirds\, bluebirds\, bobolinks\, egrets\, grosbeaks\, herons\, kingfishers\, kinglets\, owls\, rails\, ravens & crows\, sandpipers\, vultures\, warblers\, and woodpeckers. Birders of all levels will enjoy this trip. The trails are flat and easy to walk. We may offer optional 30-60 minute trip extensions to adjacent locations such as West Roxbury High School Marsh and/or Brook Farm. \nThe walk is free but preregistration is required. Please preregister by emailing Correne George of Mass. Audubon at cgeorge@massaudubon.org and ccing neil.calabro1@mac.com. Registration is limited to 20 people. Be sure to wear a hat and waterproof footwear and pack water. A jacket and gloves are recommended.

SUMMARY:Arlington Reservoir
DESCRIPTION:In the fall water levels are lowered creating good conditions for ducks and shorebirds. We will also visit the adjacent Lexington community farm. Birds are found feasting on the remains of the crops planted there. We will walk about a mile on wide paths and some uneven ground (possibly muddy). DESCRIPTION:Part 1: 7:30 – 10:15 am / Part 2: 10:30 am – 1:00 pm.  We will hike at a slow pace through mild to moderate trails in search of sparrows and other migrants. SUMMARY:Half Day Pelagic out of Gloucester
DESCRIPTION:We have arranged a private charter with 7 Seas for a half day pelagic trip on October 24 out of Gloucester harbor. This trip will be dedicated to searching for pelagic seabirds in offshore waters although we may also see sea mammals or other sea life during the trip. \nThis trip will sail rain or shine. \nFood and beverages will be available for purchase on board. \nCost: $60 \nThis is a reserved private charter. Cancellations are limited to emergencies and incur a small cancelation fee ($5). If weather causes the captain to cancel\, full  refunds will be issued to all participants. \nMeeting time: 7:30am check-in for 8am departure. \nMeeting spot: 7 Seas Whale Watch\, Seas Wharf\, 63 Rogers St\, Gloucester\, MA. DESCRIPTION:We will walk about 1.5 miles on gravel paths in search of late fall sparrows. This is usually a good spot for Lincoln’s and Clay-colored Sparrows. We never know what else might show up. I will arrive early to listen for Great Horned Owls.

SUMMARY:Belle Isle Marsh Marine Ecology Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Mass. Audubon and the Brookline Bird Club to observe resident birds and fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species\, including uncommon and rare birds. Target species include blackbirds\, brant\, dunlin\, eagles\, egrets\, falcons\, hawks\, herons\, kinglets\, loons\, mergansers\, owls\, oystercatchers\, plovers\, ravens and crows\, sandpipers\, sapsuckers\, scaup\, scoters\, sparrows & juncos\, terns\, and yellowlegs. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk The trails are flat and easy to walk. We may offer optional 30-60 minute trip extensions to nearby locations such as Lewis Lake and/or Short Beach. \nThe walk is free but preregistration is required. Please preregister by emailing Correne George of Mass. Audubon at cgeorge@massaudubon.org and ccing neil.calabro1@mac.com. Registration is limited to 15 people. Be sure to wear a hat and waterproof footwear and pack water. A jacket and gloves are recommended.
