DESCRIPTION:Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust in association with Massachusetts Audubon\, Mill City Grows and the City of Lowell has preserved this former Christmas tree farm on Varnum Avenue with the intent of providing open space for residents and visitors to explore and enjoy. An all-persons trail ensures the property is accessible to everyone. We will look and listen for birds that also appreciate the protection of this space\, whether they are migrating to their final breeding locations or staying to spend the summer. The walk will be leisurely with some mildly hilly sections on gravel trails. Co-sponsored by the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust and limited to 20 participants. SUMMARY:Roslindale Wetlands Urban Park
DESCRIPTION:A small but mighty urban wild that offers a variety of habitat. Expect to see a variety of woodpeckers\, resident birds\, warblers\, and other migratory species\, as well as a surprise or two. The path is flat with a mix of gravel and dirt surfaces with newly added boardwalks on the wetter sections. Boots are strongly advised. A visit to nearby Peter’s Hill in the Arboretum is an option afterwards if others feel inclined.

SUMMARY:Stony Brook with Boston Birding Festival and Walking City Trail
DESCRIPTION:We’ll explore and look for early migrants and residents along the Walking City Trail in the Stony Brook Reservation in the heart of Boston\, in collaboration with Boston Birding Festival and Walking City Trail. Expect about 2 miles miles on trails that will be difficult in places. The trails can be rocky\, have exposed roots\, and somewhat steep. They can also be muddy if it has rained recently. New birders welcome. We will have some binoculars to lend. In addition BBF requires a waiver (made available through the registration process) which you should print and sign and bring with you. We will have waiver forms available if you forget.
