DESCRIPTION:Join us to observe resident birds and spring migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species\, including uncommon and rare birds. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk The trails are flat and easy to walk. We may do an optional 30 minute trip extension to an adjacent location such as West Roxbury High School Marsh. Be sure to wear a hat and waterproof footwear and pack water. Insect repellent and sunblock are recommended.\nThe walk is free but preregistration is required. SUMMARY:Stony Brook with Boston Birding Festival and Walking City Trail
DESCRIPTION:We’ll explore and look for early migrants and residents along the Walking City Trail in the Stony Brook Reservation in the heart of Boston\, in collaboration with Boston Birding Festival and Walking City Trail. Expect about 2 miles miles on trails that will be difficult in places. The trails can be rocky\, have exposed roots\, and somewhat steep. They can also be muddy if it has rained recently. New birders welcome. We will have some binoculars to lend. Registration with Boston Birding Festival is required at this link (https://www.bostonbirdingfestival.org/posts/spring-walk-at-stony-brook-stony-brook-reservation/). In addition BBF requires a waiver (made available through the registration process) which you should print and sign and bring with you. We will have waiver forms available if you forget.

DESCRIPTION:A small but mighty urban wild that offers a variety of habitat. Expect to see a variety of woodpeckers\, resident birds\, warblers\, and other migratory species\, as well as a surprise or two. The path is flat with a mix of gravel and dirt surfaces with newly added boardwalks on the wetter sections. Boots are strongly advised. A visit to nearby Peter’s Hill in the Arboretum is an option afterwards if others feel inclined.

DESCRIPTION:Everyone is welcome! Come celebrate Black Birders Week with us on an approximately 2-mile walk along the Neponset River Greenway. This is an accessible boardwalk and bike path (slightly hilly at the beginning of the walk). Let’s help each other find beautiful birds together! Beginners and BIPOC encouraged as well as more experienced birders. Loaner binoculars available. \nAfter the walk\, from 11:30 am – 1 pm\, there will be a light brunch provided by our cosponsor Give Black Alliance in Milton\, MA.
