SUMMARY:Millennium Park
DESCRIPTION:Joint with Mass Audubon BNC. Join us to observe resident birds and fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species\, including uncommon and rare birds. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk. The trails are (generally) flat though there are some hills. A water bottle\, water proof clothing including a hat\, sunblock & insect repellent are recommended. \nPre-registration is required as walk sizes are limited. Please register by emailing cgeorge@massaudubon.org and copying neil.calabro1@mac.com. Be sure to mention it when registering if you will need loaner binoculars. There are only a few pairs available. \nMeeting spot directions: 300 Gardner St\, Boston\, MA. Once you arrive at the park\, turn left and then you will quickly see a small sign at the first left turn labelled Canoe Launch. Follow that road to the end. Meet in the parking lot nearest the canoe launch\, at end of lot. There is a Google map link below \nClosest MBTA bus stop is on bus #36\, VA Hospital. Approximately a 20 minute walk.

SUMMARY:An Oasis for Birds at Belle Isle Marsh
DESCRIPTION:Join DCR park staff for a relaxed\, one-mile bird walk through flat\, easy terrain at this Massachusetts State Reservation and birding hot spot. In July\, At Belle Isle and at additional nearby locations—we’ll search for osprey\, flocks of egrets\, piping plover\, migrating shorebirds\, meadow and grassland nesting birds. Participants are responsible for their own transportation between locations (by car or bike). Binoculars are recommended\, and don’t forget to protect yourself from ticks and mosquitoes. Suitable for adults and children ages 8 and up (with an accompanying adult). Sponsored by Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation\, Brookline Bird Club\, & Friends of Belle Isle Marsh.

SUMMARY:Arnold Arboretum\, Bussey Hill & Peter’s Hill (Early Birders Series)
DESCRIPTION:Join fellow birders in their 20s-30s as we visit Arnold Arboretum! Located in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Boston\, Arnold Arboretum is a 281-acre public preserve home to an extensive collection of flora from across the globe. As we navigate through the park’s hills and gardens\, expect to see summer songbird residents. We have no set path for this trip and will follow our eyes and ears to find the birdiest spots in the park.\nWhether you’re a newcomer looking to start a new hobby or are a seasoned bird expert\, birders of all experience levels in their 20s and 30s are encouraged to join! Let’s connect through our mutual appreciation for birds and the environment! Hope to see you there!\nDress for the weather conditions! Expect to walk on mostly gravel paths through hills. We will start our walk at South Street Gate and visit Bussey Hill and Peter’s Hill. Bring binoculars if you have them; loaners are available on request (please email the trip leader ahead of time). \nThis trip is specifically dedicated to those in their 20s and 30s. Please do not bring children. \nPlan to meet at South Street Gate (across the street from Bussey Brook Meadow). Audubon Boston Nature Center and preregistration is required as walk sizes are limited. Please register by emailing neil.calabro1@mac.com. Be sure to mention it when registering if you will need loaner binoculars. There are only a few pairs available. \nMeeting spot: RPM Fitness lot\, 120 Banks St. Winthrop. There is a chain link fence with (worn out\, not easy to see) signs authorizing public parking alongside the fence. Park in front of that fence. You’ll see a sign in the far back of the lot that says Belle Isle Marsh Marine Ecology Park. Meet in front of the sign. Please don’t park in a spot that says for gym only. \nPublic transit: Nearest MBTA stop is Blue Line Orient Heights. It’s a 32 minute walk.
