Audubon and the Brookline Bird Club to observe resident birds and fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species\, including uncommon and rare birds. Target species include auks\, brant\, dunlin\, eagles\, egrets\, falcons\, hawks\, herons\, loons\, mergansers\, owls\, oystercatchers\, plovers\, ravens & crows\, sandpipers\, sapsuckers\, scaup\, scoters\, and yellowlegs. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk. The trails are flat and easy to walk. \nThe walk is free but preregistration is required. Please preregister by emailing Correne George of Mass. Audubon at cgeorge@massaudubon.org and ccing neil.calabro1@mac.com. Registration is limited to 20 people. Be sure to wear a hat and waterproof footwear and pack water. DESCRIPTION:In the fall water levels are lowered creating good conditions for ducks and shorebirds. We will also visit the adjacent Lexington community farm. Birds are found feasting on the remains of the crops planted there. We will walk about a mile on wide paths and some uneven ground (possibly muddy). DESCRIPTION:In the fall water levels are lowered creating good conditions for ducks and shorebirds. We will also visit the adjacent Lexington community farm. Birds are found feasting on the remains of the crops planted there. We will walk about a mile on wide paths and some uneven ground (possibly muddy). DESCRIPTION:Join fellow birders in their 20s-30s as we visit the Charles River Esplanade for an evening bird walk! Located in the heart of Boston\, the Esplanade is a 64-acre park along the south side of the Charles River. While serving as one of Boston’s staple common areas\, it is also a good spot to observe resident bird species of Massachusetts in a welcoming\, urban environment. \nWhether you’re a newcomer looking to start a new hobby or are a seasoned bird expert\, birders of all experience levels in their 20s and 30s are encouraged to join us for a casual evening of birdwatching! \nDress for the weather conditions; bring water! While the trip will start around 6:30pm\, it may still be hot out! Expect to walk approximately 3 miles on mostly paved/level paths until sundown. Bring binoculars if you have them; loaners are available on request (please email the trip leader ahead of time). \nThis trip is specifically dedicated to those aged 20-39 years. Please do not bring children. \nPlan to meet at the entrance to Frances Appleton Bridge (pedestrian bridge) just outside of the Charles/MGH red line stop. An all-persons trail ensures the property is accessible to everyone. SUMMARY:Friday Morning Emerald Necklace Birding at Olmsted Pk
DESCRIPTION:We will explore the Olmsted Park section of the Emerald Necklace looking for warblers\, vireos\, orioles\, and other spring migrants at Jamaica\, Ward\, Willow\, and Leverett Ponds. Beginners welcome and encouraged. Limited loaner binoculars available. Terrain will be a mix of paved and unpaved paths and grassy fields. We’ll walk up to 1.5 miles. No restrooms.’

SUMMARY:Roslindale Wetlands Urban Park
DESCRIPTION:A small but mighty urban wild that offers a variety of habitat. Expect to see a variety of woodpeckers\, resident birds\, warblers\, and other migratory species\, as well as a surprise or two. The path is flat with a mix of gravel and dirt surfaces with newly added boardwalks on the wetter sections. Boots are strongly advised. A visit to nearby Peter’s Hill in the Arboretum is an option afterwards if others feel inclined.

Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk The trails are flat and easy to walk. Be sure to wear a hat and waterproof footwear and pack water.
