DESCRIPTION:Join us for a walk through various habitats such as mature woodland\, freshwater marsh\, and open fields as we look and listen for spring migrants and resident breeding birds at this beautiful piece of property preserved by the town of Dracut. We should be able to find a good variety of species that need these islands of native vegetation to fuel up on their way to their breeding grounds or to stay and raise the next generation. DESCRIPTION:Cosponsored by the ECOC. We will likely walk 3 or 4 miles on mostly flat trails through sanctuary woodlands and wetlands. Be prepared for some trails being wet\, muddy\, or rutted. Also take precautions against ticks. There is a small fee required if you are not a member of Mass Audubon. We will be looking for early migrants such as Pine and Palm warblers\, swallows\, and vocal residents such as Barred Owl\, Pileated Woodpecker\, and Eastern Bluebird.

DESCRIPTION:This walk is intended for new members! Get to know your fellow club members. Bring a friend if you like. \nAn easy 2-mile walk through pondside meadows and forest paths at Fresh Pond. We’ll see summer residents including breeding birds. \nWe will meet in the parking lot of the TD Bank at Fresh Pond Circle\, located at the intersection of Concord Avenue with Fresh Pond Parkway in Cambridge. If you are driving\, please see the walk leader (Thomas Michel) when you arrive to get a parking permit to place on the dashboard of your car\, and then park in the Trader Joe’s lot. If you don’t have one of these permits from Thomas\, your car may be towed. Parking is also available at the Alewife T station\, and there is limited metered street parking on Wheeler and Fawcett Streets in Cambridge and on Concord Avenue in Belmont. Fresh Pond Reservation is also accessible by T (Red Line Alewife Station) or via MBTA #74 bus.
