DESCRIPTION:Be prepared for a three-mile walk. Our target birds will be Pileated Woodpecker\, Winter Wren and a variety of warblers including Louisiana Waterthrush. This trip will be canceled in the event of rain. Please contact the leader the night before if the forecast is for inclement weather. We will walk into the Holly Pond loop before the main gate opens. We will then drive around to the main gate and bird the other sections of the park.

SUMMARY:Burrage Pond Wildlife Management Area (rescheduled from Saturday)
DESCRIPTION:A 3 to 4 mile walk along level gravel paths along the woods edge\, old cranberry bogs and reservoir. We will search for the locally breeding Sandhill Cranes and early migrants. The American Bittern is more often heard than seen and waterfowl should be plentiful.

We will also check the grassy slopes next to the pond and recycling center for sparrows and other grassland birds.

DESCRIPTION:Join us to observe resident birds and spring migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species\, including uncommon and rare birds. Birders of all levels will enjoy this walk The trails are flat and easy to walk. Be sure to wear a hat and waterproof footwear and pack water. SUMMARY:Stony Brook with Boston Birding Festival and Walking City Trail
DESCRIPTION:We’ll explore and look for early migrants and residents along the Walking City Trail in the Stony Brook Reservation in the heart of Boston\, in collaboration with Boston Birding Festival and Walking City Trail. Expect about 2 miles miles on trails that will be difficult in places. The trails can be rocky\, have exposed roots\, and somewhat steep. They can also be muddy if it has rained recently. New birders welcome. We will have some binoculars to lend. Registration with Boston Birding Festival is required at this link (https://www.bostonbirdingfestival.org/posts/spring-walk-at-stony-brook-stony-brook-reservation/). In addition BBF requires a waiver (made available through the registration process) which you should print and sign and bring with you. We will have waiver forms available if you forget.

DESCRIPTION:Join fellow birders in their 20s-30s as we visit Alewife Brook Reservation! Located in North Cambridge\, Alewife Brook is host to a variety of resident & migratory bird species in an urban forest/wetland setting. As we explore what the park has to offer\, expect to look for songbirds\, waterbirds\, early warblers\, and other spring migrants. \nWhether you’re a newcomer looking to start a new hobby or are a seasoned bird expert\, birders of all experience levels in their 20s and 30s are encouraged to join! Let’s connect through our mutual appreciation for birds and the environment! Hope to see you there! \n\nDress for the weather conditions; bring water! Expect to walk approximately 2-3 miles on mostly paved/level paths. Bring binoculars if you have them; loaners are available on request (please email the trip leader). \nThis trip is specifically dedicated to those aged 20-39 years. Please do not bring children. \n\nWe will be meeting at the start of the Minuteman Bike Path ((just north of the Alewife Station parking garage at the intersection of Steel Pl & Alewife Station Access Rd). Public transit access is accessible via the MBTA red line. Parking is available in the Alewife parking garage (paid lot) or the 2-hour DCR lot on the north side of the park.
