SUMMARY:Wompatuck State Park\, Hingham
DESCRIPTION:Be prepared for a three-mile walk. Our target birds will be Pileated Woodpecker\, Winter Wren and a variety of warblers including Louisiana Waterthrush. This trip will be canceled in the event of rain. Please contact the leader the night before if the forecast is for inclement weather. \nEarlier we were not sure the main gate would be open very early but now it appears that it will be and the meeting spot is the main lot across the road from the visitor center in the park. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a seven-day exploration of mountains and lakes of western Maine! As always\, this trip will concentrate on Maine’s boreal specialties including Spruce Grouse\, Black-backed Woodpecker\, Olive-sided and Yellow-bellied flycatchers\, Philadelphia Vireo\, Gray Jay\, Boreal Chickadee\, Bicknell’s Thrush and 20+ species of warbler. We also observe and enjoy flora and fauna along way. Participants can expect to do some moderate hiking and optional canoeing.\nLimited participation. *Please contact leader for more information and reservations at least one month in advance.
